Client: Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Corporation
Location: Mead, WA
Engineer: ICF Kaiser Engineers and Constructors
Contractor: Garco Construction Co.
Size/Scope: 60,695 sq ft, 777 tons - 2 ea. Class "F" 20 ton cranes
Operator: Kaiser Mead
Use: Carbon Baking Modernization
Features: Design per AISE Technical Report 13: Design and Construction of Mill Buildings
 Kaiser Carbon Bake Facility
Comment: Developing and producing a structure that carries not one but two 20 ton cranes, produces some special challenges. In part, because Garco has a reputation for producing structural steel that is consistently "on spec", we were chosen to create the steel for this exceptional project.
