Delivery: Deliver primary frames, secondary framing, bolts, nuts, washers and other erection hardware in unopened packs and containers identified with building name and contents of each carton or pack. B. Storage: Store materials off ground and protect from damage. Slope galvanized secondary material to avoid moisture accumulation and provide drainage. C. Handling: Handle material properly to protect from damage. PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.01 MANUFACTURER A. Approved Manufacturer: 1. Garco Building Systems, Inc. 2.02 FRAMING MATERIALS A. Structural Framing Members: Manufactured from ASTM A529, A1011, A1018 or equal, 55 KSI yield stress. (Light gauge endframes unacceptable). B. Secondary Framing Members: Manufactured from ASTM A653, 55 KSI minimum yield, G90 galvanized, minimum 17 gauge. C. Structural Bolts and Nuts: 1. Primary Framing: Use ASTM A325, minimum 5/8-inch diameter. 2. Secondary Framing: Use SAE Grade 5, 1/2-inch diameter. D. Wind Bracing Cables and Rods: 1. Cables: ASTM A475, galvanized, 7 strand EHS complete with eyebolts, rod shoes, and hardware as required. 2. Rods: ASTM A36 steel, prime painted, with manufacturer's standard shop primer and hardware, as required. 2.03 ROOF SYSTEM (See Division 07000) 2.04 MANUFACTURED STEEL FRAME UNITS A. Manufacturers Building Systems Main Frame Type: (TBC - Tapered Beam and Column) (TB - Tapered Beam) (BRF- Beam Rigid Frame) (RF - Rigid Frame) (TRF - Tapered Ridge Frame) (SSTRF - Single Slope Tapered Rigid Frame) (MBC - Modular Beam and Column), (TWU - Tapered Beam Wing Unit) (PWU - Parallel Flange Wing Unit) (Lean-to Frame), (EF-End Frames) or (CC - Cantilevered Canopy Frame). B. Fabrication: 1. Structural Frame: a. Fabricate by continuous welding cut-to shape web sections to plate steel flange sections. b. Punch or drill butt-plates and base plates for field bolted assembly. c. Hold fabrication tolerances for primary and secondary to those listed by AISC and AISI. d. Clips welded to frame for purlin attachment with bolts. (Direct bolting through holes in flange prohibited). e. Flange width shall be a minimum of 1/5 (one-fifth) the web depth. 2. Secondary: a. Fabricate by precision roll-forming or press brake. Purlins with minimum 2 1/2 inch flat flange width. b. All opening framing to be fabricated from minimum 17 gauge galvanized sections, clip bolted to secondary framing. c. Purlins are to have top flanges braced to prevent rolling. With a standing seam (floating roof system) panel, point braces will be required at 5-ft. maximum spacing to brace top flange of purlins. Design of purlins with point bracing determined by AISI discrete bracing method. C. Finishes: 1. Shop Priming: a. Clean metal surfaces of loose scale, shavings and oil in compliance with SSPC-SP-3. b. Apply one coat manufacturer's standard shop primer to average 1.5 mil thickness with minimum thickness not less than 1.0 mil. c. Touch-up surfaces having runs, smears or bare spots. d. Optional finish preparation as required for optional finishes. 2. Finish Painting: [Alkyd Enamel (special color)] [Epoxy (severe environment)] [Urethane (severe environment and color retention)]. Apply paint in accordance with manufacturer's instruction. Apply paint evenly, free from drops, ridges, waves and brush marks; finish surface uniform in sheen, color and texture. Assure primer compatibility with finish paint. Finish paint is to be factory applied (field painting prohibited). a. Paint: ????? . PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.01 INSPECTION A. Site Verification of Conditions: Examine conditions under which work is to be done. Do not proceed until unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected. 3.02 ERECTION A. Use templates for accurate setting of anchor bolts. Level bearing plate area with steel wedges or shims, and grout. B. Erect building frame true and level with vertical members plumb and bracing properly installed. Maintain structural stability of frame during erection. C. Ream holes requiring enlargement to admit bolts. Burned holes for bolted connections are not permitted without written approval by designer. Burned holes, if any, shall be reamed. D. Tighten bolts and nuts in accordance with "specification for structural joints using ASTM A325 or A490 bolts" using specified procedure. (Turn-of-nut tightening) (Calibrated wrench tightening) (LeJeune type bolts) (Direct tension indicator washers) or (Snug-tight). E. Set purlins at right angle and bolt to appropriate clips. Attach to clips as required to satisfy design loads and as shown on drawings. |
